The Most Common Invisalign Accessories

TeamInvisalign

Invisalign accessories aren’t necessary for your aligner therapy treatment, but they can make it easier, faster, more comfortable, and even a little more fun. Below, we cover some of the most common official Invisalign accessories. If you’re interested in any of them, they’re available from the Invisalign website or through our office!

Invisalign Cases

You’ll get a complimentary Invisalign case with your aligners when you start treatment, but if you lose your original case or you’d like something with a little more personality, you can purchase cases from Invisalign in a variety of colors and designs. There’s sloths, flowers, nature scenery, sports team logos, and even classic works of art like Van Gogh’s Starry Night.

Aligner Cleaners

You really only need warm water, non-abrasive toothpaste, or mild dish soap to clean your Invisalign aligners or retainers, but for your convenience, Invisalign also offers a number of cleaning products. There’s aligner cleaning spray and foam, and sterilizing solution with trays for soaking your aligners if they have buildup or odor. If you have a retainer, we recommend the Invisalign Cleaning System or Cleaning Crystals; while aligners are usually discarded after two weeks, your retainers are meant to last for years, so they’ll need more thorough cleaning!

Munchies

Munchies have a funny name, but a serious purpose! They’re silicone pieces that help ensure that your aligners are properly “seated” on your teeth. When you bite down on them, they will optimally position your aligners for maximum effectiveness, helping your teeth move as efficiently and predictably as possible. In addition to Munchies, Invisalign sells Aligner Seaters, which serve the same purpose; you place them in your mouth and chew on them to close air gaps between your teeth and your aligners.

PULTOOL

Not a fan of putting your hands in your mouth to remove your aligners? Even patients who didn’t mind doing this in the past have been more mindful of it since the start of the pandemic! The PULTOOL is a small hand tool that has a finger ring on one side and a wedge on the other to pull out your aligners without putting your fingers in your mouth.

Invisalign Stickables

Younger patients will love Invisalign Stickables, which allow them to decorate their aligners and make a statement! While adults are usually interested in Invisalign because it’s invisible, kids aren’t as concerned with their aligners being discreet. Stickables come in a variety of designs, including animals, emojis, food, letters, holidays, sports, and more.

Vivera Retainers

While they’re not exactly an Invisalign accessory, Vivera retainers are an important part of the Invisalign system! Once your aligner therapy is complete, you’ll be given a set of Vivera retainers to maintain your results. Just like your aligners, Vivera retainers are made with clear plastic molded to your teeth; the primary difference between your retainers and your aligners is that the retainers are meant to last for a few years, so they’re made with a thicker, sturdier material.
